Aktivister afviser planer om kirkebesættelse

De 70 bådflygtninge, der befinder sig ombord på Levende Havs miljøkutter M/S Anton, som ankommer til Holbæk fredag den 27. august, skal ikke hjælpes til at flytte ind i hverken Sct. Nikolai Kirke eller andre kirker i nabolaget, fortæller skipper Knud Andersen. Selvom flygtningeproblemet stadig er enormt mange steder i verden, og vi i Danmark også har et ansvar for at hjælpe folk i nød, så mener Knud Andersen ikke, at løsningen er at flytte ind i en kirke i Holbæk for at søge om asyl.
- Vi kan ikke forhindre, at nogen af dem går i land, det har vi også set i Randers, hvor vi lige har været, men besætningen ombord på kutteren vil ikke assistere nogen i at tage bolig i en kirke. Det har vi i hvert fald ingen planer om.
Heller ikke Levende Havs samarbejdspartnere i Holbæk udtrykker noget ønske om at lave flygtningekampagnen om til en kirkebesættelse.
- Det her handler om oplysning og debat og ikke om at sikre asyl til nogen, siger Stig Elliot fra Seniorer uden Grænser, der sammen med Cykler til Senegal er med til at arrangere begivenhederne i Holbæk.
- Når vores del af kampagnen er slut, regner vi med at flygtningene sejler med Anton videre til Århus, siger Stig Elliot.
Han ønsker ikke at kommentere på forbindelserne mellem Seniorer uden Grænser og den mere radikale forening Bedsteforældre for Asyl, men understreger at alle er velkomne på havnen i Holbæk, og at der vil blive både musik, debat og oplysning i en forhåbentlig god og fordragelig stemning.
